Student parking is a privilege extended to senior students who abide by the guidelines established by the school administration to ensure a safe and orderly parking lot. The school parking lot and access roads are regulated by the administration and are under the jurisdiction of the Washington Twp Police Department who enforce local ordinances and state statutes. We maintain the right to tow any car that is illegally parked on school grounds. (please refer to the student handbook p. 42 for specific parking regulations and possible consequences. PLEASE NOTE on p. 43: CARS FOUND TO BE PARKED ON CAMPUS ILLEGALLY WITHOUT PERMITS or IN NON-STUDENT LOCATIONS WILL BE TICKETED OR TOWED by Action Towing LLC, Chester, NJ)

ONLY Senior students in good standing with a valid driver's license and who have attended the Share the Keys WMC mandatory driving presentation with a parent/guardian will be issued a parking permit tag at the beginning of each school year.

Junior students may have the opportunity to obtain a parking permit through a junior parking permit lottery. Depending upon weather conditions and parking space availability, there may be a parking lottery held for junior parking tags.

If a junior parking permit lottery is to be held, juniors must submit paperwork obtained through the main office and are eligible only under the below criteria:
  • Juniors with a valid driver's license or
  • 17th birthday before a specific date to be determined before each lottery (see dates below)
  • Juniors who have attended a West Morris Central High School Share the Keys driver program with a parent/guardian
All underclassmen without a valid WMC Junior Parking tag who park on school grounds may lose their parking privileges for their senior year and may be subject to consequences such as ticketing and/or towing.
Action Towing LLC, Chester, NJ

Junior Students living within the 2 mile zone and who have attended the mandatory Share The Keys parking program may obtain a parking permit once they obtain their driver's license and submit the appropriate paperwork.

MANDATORY Parking Permit Program (SHARE THE KEYS)
Parking permits will only be issued after both a parent/guardian and student have attended the mandatory program which includes topics such as current state student driving laws - GDL information and updates, along with school parking regulations.

The Share The Keys evening parking permit program is conducted in conjunction with the NJ Teen Safe Driving Coalition. (approx. 1 hour, conducted in the auditorium, 7 p.m. - 4 times per year)

Kean University, in partnership with the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety and New Jersey State Police, developed Share the Keys, a research-based, data-driven orientation designed to reduce teen driver crash risks by increasing parental involvement. NJteenDriving is funded through the Division of Highway Traffic Safety. The program is designed to provide parents with information and resources on teen driving safety.
Evening program dates will be posted here and on the main bulletin board section of our WMCHS website. Please send an email to Mrs. Miriam Dumbrill, Admin. Asst. ,with any questions.  Space may be limited.
